Side by side, on the same inputs

The same prompt at 4K

Same input: One prompt full of fine texture: the bow of an old wooden fishing boat on a pebble beach at sunrise, a slow sideways camera move. 16:9, 5 seconds, one render per tier.

Kling v3 at 4K: close on frayed rope and green fishing net on the old wooden boat
Kling 3.0. Close on the rope and net. Played small here; the zooms below are from the delivered file.
Seedance 2.0 Pro at 4K: the old blue and white fishing boat on a pebble beach with the sun low behind it
Seedance 2.0 Pro. The bow and the beach. Played small here; the zooms below are from the delivered file.

Both 4K files carry detail a stretched 1080p frame does not: Kling 3.0 about ten times as much, Seedance 2.0 Pro about fifteen times as much, each against its own 1080p render.

Method and every run: Seedance 2.5 at 1080p or Seedance 2.0 Pro at 4K: what the files contain

At three times size

Same input: One patch of each 4K frame at three times size, so each source pixel is visible.

Rope fibres from Kling v3's 4K frame at three times size
Kling 3.0. Kling 3.0: the edges of single rope fibres.
A patch of hull from Seedance 2.0 Pro's 4K frame at three times size
Seedance 2.0 Pro. Seedance 2.0 Pro: fine cracks and grain in the paint.

To our eyes, at laptop or phone size, a 4K frame and its 1080p squeeze look the same. The detail matters when you crop, stabilise, grade hard or deliver to a 4K screen.

Method and every run: Seedance 2.5 at 1080p or Seedance 2.0 Pro at 4K: what the files contain

What these tests do not tell you

  • One render per tier. The detail numbers depend on the picture and will move from render to render.
  • The two models drew different pictures from the prompt, so their detail numbers are not a contest; each is measured against itself.
